Ingredients

Dough:

  • 210g Greek Style yogurt

  • 250g Plain Flour

  • 1 x tsp Baking powder

  • Salt

Filling:

  • 200g feta

  • 100g cream cheeese

  • 1 x Egg

  • 40g pine nut

  • 1/2 tsp Oregano

  • Sesame seeds

Oil for frying

Honey (optional drizzle)

instructions

In a mixing bowl mix the salt into the yogurt and then add the flour and baking powder. Mix until shaggy and combined. Place on a floured surface and knead for 1-3 minutes. Just to bring the dough together. Put the dough in a bowl and cover with a tea towel for 15-30 minutes.

The dough can vary according to which flour and which yogurt you use, if you find the dough too wet add some more flour when kneading and if the dough is too dry and not coming together add 1 x tsp yogurt.

Mix your filling ingredients together and set aside.

Divide into 8, Shape into a rough ball.

Dip the ball into the sesame seeds and press down slightly. (starting with the one you shaped first) the dough is pretty sticky so the seeds stick. Roll it out as thin as you can, add more flour to the top if it becomes sticky and make sure you’re rolling on a floured surface. Add some filling to the bottom half of the circle and fold it over sealing around the sides.

Heat some oil and fry for a couple of minutes on each side.

OPTIONAL: drizzle some honey on them while they’re warm. I liked them with and without. I did half with honey and half without.
